'The Bible' implies 'People'. A people whose understanding and being is guided by 'Yahweh', or 'Jehovah'.
When gunmen stormed the Westgate, people were killed. Were these people worth defending?
Defending the Bible, paradoxically, is also defending the Koran, or Gita, or the book of Mormon. It's about fostering understanding among humans and preventing evil and destruction.
