I'm with D&B and today I'm unable to place orders online. I can't even see my CDS HOLDINGS. Is there something wrong with CDSC?

CFC Stanbic has served me well and I have confidence in them not going under because brokerage business is just a small unit of their revenue generating units. Also,this is an international firm with branches in SA,Kenya and UG,its not about to pulll a Thuo on you,just think StanChart or Barclays.

Use a bank affiliated broker or even custodian. So NIC,Equity,CFC. Also hnw ones like Kestrel or AA.
Don't use Unreliable,SIB or Ngenye,agents unless they can show you their audited financial statements for 2008.

@Mainat

agents give personalized service thats why one may choose to go through them sometimes. is there any problem if i use an agent of a reliable broker such as AAKS

D&B online system is quite slow,any order placed after 9.00am is left pending till the next day.They rarely bother to execute specified orders.you have to pester them with emails to get anything going.Leaves a lot to be desired
The utimate goal of investing is to buy low sell high;if we re-write this core equation in psychology terms it becomes buy fear sell greed.

I think I won't go wrong if I suggest that you stay with bank affiliated stockbrokerage firms. Men,I have burnt my fingures twice and I have none to burn in the future. I've learnt my lesson the bitter way: learn from my experience.
