Thanks leona,

Where is toy market? Is it a toy market or clothes market?

I know Gikoba is usually crowded. Its not one place i would like to visit esp. when its raining or too dry.

I have noticed SK ladies really enjoy this little sex related threads, the response is normally a quick wag of the finger and a wink.

Must be a case of 'wachaaa... hapanaaaa. when in real sense she's the one who won't let go off you.

I've noticed the youth in particular coming in to a workplace with a completely outsized notion of their own value and importance... just a thinly-veiled arrogance. May be the credit crunch induced recession is whats needed to remind us all about the value of hard work.... By Anonymous

Toy market(toi/toy) isnt a toy market! its a clothes market just behind Adams corner on Ngong road. Its kind of like Gikomba but less crowded and a bit more organised. Was there last weekend, they had some really great stuff for kids, kwanza hooded jackets...

Toi market is better in prices,i mean they have really nice stuff and you dont have to walk your foot off. Parking is available at Toi primary or next to winners chapel -pls use the adams arcade route.

For Gikimba there are so many brokers you will pay thrice the price the real owner asks for.

All the best in your shopping - mtumba shopping is not fun but its worht it - your kids get unique stuff not the kenya uniforms of most new clothes shops.

Threads in SK mutate as someone correctly noted... this mutation heads mostly two ways, tribal which ends up with exchange of nasty words or to the bin which sometimes ends up with having someone being teased making it interesting..... even those that are started early monday morning find themselves in the bin after a while.

Some deals are like glass. Sometimes it's better to leave them broken than try to hurt yourself putting it back together.

As the weather changes many parents concern themselves with clothes to keep their children warm. There is nothing necessarily wrong with this but most of it may be unnecessary. For the health of your child in all seasons try to focus on the inside. Make sure the child is WELL FED and is PHYSICALLY ACTIVE. Wrapping a child in 10 vests and a hooded jacket restricts movement and the heat inside creates a lazy feeling. For as long as a child is healthy do not restrict play outside on account of weather, the fat beneath the skin and heat generated by active muscles are better than anything you could ever buy him. Remember a running nose by itself is not a disease, buy the young one a handkerchief. The body builds up its own defenses to allow it to survive in different weather conditions. Encourage your young ones to keep warm by moving (running, playing football, skipping rope) rather than by wrapping themselves up.
