We have always been told that we should lie down in case we hear gun shots or a grenade is thrown towards.

What is in today's Star newspaper suggest may be we should change strategy.

A doctor who involved with the westgate mall says that from the bodies, most victims were tortured before they were killed.

"They removed balls. eyes, ears, nose. They get your hand and sharpen it like a pencil then they tell you to write your name with the blood. They drive knives inside a child's body. Actually, if you look at all the bodies, unless those ones that were escaping, fingers are cut by pliers, the noses are ripped by pliers"

Are we not better running away as fast as we can and if we are unable to run, die fighting them rather than wait to be hostages and go through this painful death?

Does it surprise you that no witness reported ever seeing anything like that? Do you think gunmen who are actively being engaged by armed security forces would have that kind of luxury?

depends. if this story is true (which am not saying is the case) then this could have been done on those that surrendered and not those who were killed at the initial stage of the attack.

Porojo
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God..

I heard a not too different tale early today from one of my clients. He claims to have been told by a nephew from the reece company. It was too horrific i couldnt finish my cup of tea.

Am really hoping someone will give us an assurance that the hostages did not meet their death the way my client was describing.

I have chosen to believe all hostages had been rescued by monday evening. If for no other reason, so that i can sleep at night.

Back to @tassia's question, it is never a rational decision. On saturday, defying orders would have been the best option. I watch the crime channels daily and i am with you on this one; complying with the demands of a gun wielding crazie quite often turns tragic for the victim.
