With all that taxation on agricultural inputs? How? Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on.

Closely watching the VAT drama - http://www.businessdaily...0/-/nw4ymc/-/index.html
If inflation spikes sustain 3 months in a row I expect the market to start feeling that pressure as well as that siasa house. $15/barrel oil... The commodities lehman moment arrives as well as Sovereign debt volcano!

Daktari, don't believe the tale that taxation is bad...no...if we produce what we consume...the economy will grow. If we pay our taxes and these taxes go towards service delivery then we're good. I await to see if these irrigation projects take off and if our cereals board will buy the grains. "There are only two emotions in the market, hope & fear. I do not believe taxation is bad, no sir. I'd rather we financed our expenditure using our own internally generated resources. My main worry though is that by taxing our farming inputs (be they fertilizers, seeds, livestock feeds, machinery, etc) it makes that much mo difficult, in the immediate short to medium term, for the average farmer to invest his resources to expand his production output. Ni hayo tu. Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on.

Is there such plan/mechanism? How will it work? How do you identify and reach millions of farmers scattered throughout Kenya? The cost?
