I was advised to buy LG by a friend and it's has given good service for nearly 30 months. Am not conversant with the other models but this is one i would surely vouch for.

samsung is great.
It even has a function called 'good sleep'; It doesnt run all through.
The compressor goes off at intervals but the set temperature is maintained thus reducing electricity usage to some extend...Dont know about LG and the rest

All fridges are virtually identical in terms of consumption and durability!!!

We have an Ariston and it has been going strong for the last TEN YEARS. Never broken down at all!!

My dad's Sanyo has been running close to 20 years now...also never broken down.

Make sure you buy a power stabilizer (Fridge Guard) to protect it fro power fluctuations.

To reduce consumption, defrost regularly and always make sure that the door shuts properly.

Behind the gardens...Behind the wall...Under the tree (Including: Red...Dark Blue...Yellow)
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

Myks, what happens to the temp when the 'good sleep' is activated? Will the cooling stop and the food gets spoilt? What is the power rating of your samsung?I saw a medium one rated 110W.At what interval is the compressor running if the door is not opened/

SAMSUNG is great. LG also is good but the chinese manufactured sets seems to last less.

Otherwise what Mukiha says is rather true. What matters more in a fridge if that ugly nyungu at the back (the compressor).

I have a small LG fridge that was given as a wedding gift in 1996.It has ran trouble free since then and I do not use the AVS(Automatic voltage switch) with it.

Sanyo is good. Ariston is even better coz i know of one that's been running continously since 1986 and it has never broken down even once. That's long b4 voltage guards were invented.

@chaka,did LG fridges exist in 1996? I ask so because my fridge is a Goldstar bought new in 1998. Goldstar was subsequently bought out by LG and renamed thus, marking the entry of LG into fridges. Or do I have my facts muddled up? @wachiras,I have maximum respect for ariston. My mother's cooker bought in the year of the coup (1982) is still working perfectly today. The oven door hinges are rotten, but it still cooks.
