How does one acquire the guts to go for testing?
What are the recent prevalence trends?
What factors aid its rapid spread in africa?
What information is lacking in our day-to-day living?

Jupiter you just go with your partner.Get the blood drawn and preferrably include sugar level.Take a stroll as you wait and return.Either way there are results and pray they are negative.God takes care of his kids so don,t worry too much. But i can imagine your next stage with the good news.

jupiter... just go to any VCT or health facility that does pre and post test counselling. very important. otherwise aids aint what it use to be. we all know most heads of NGO's dealing with hiv/aids in kenya are headed by people who have been living with the condition for over 20 years ...

And Jupiter you should also bear in mind that you should only go for the test at least 3 months post exposure and then again at 6 months - so its not a simply test. HIV anti-bodies only show up between three to six months. If after 6 months its still negative (and assuming in the 6 months you have not been exposed),then you can start the ululations and buy us beer smile

The problem with equality is that we desire that it be with those that have more than us rather that those that have less

Not getting tested is what is causing the matters worse. This is because of ignorance we have especially in third world countires.

Get tested and be safe. With the current 31% positive results in adults between 21-45 years, knowing you are safe will keep you even safer. It is bad... 3-4 out of 10 sexually active adults in Kenya are HIV positive. Get tested and be safe.

I try everything in the world to make ends meet. Cheers

Just confirmed am positive. I knew it for some time because my husband died of it about 4 years ago. I am now on antietrovirals (in the USA) and hope to come to kenya soon. I Hope I can get good care down there. Any one with information/contacts please share. I must say I am born again and I have the peace of God; I am not bitter though I have only been in one relationship and then this. That we leave to God. I am a happy girl in the Lord.

For me testing was not a challenge; the challenge was getting my 11 year old tested since she came from the same relationship. Thank God she is OK.

God bless you all ].

Thank you.

Thank you.
