Actually for heavy graphics, core i5 and above is recommended.
Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on.

unfortunately lost contact with the guy long time. don't know if he is still even there. njun'ge i understand homeboyz also have some great college for animation. that they charge something like 150-200k for traning. you should give them a call or a visit. at the very least they would give you better advise on the available options for your nephew.

I forgot to add: Commission a one minute movie, agree on a price, and timelines, which he will determine.

I have a friend who went to Shang Tao. He was passionate and worked long hours alone. That's what made him good. Introduction lessons are all over the internet and on multimedia.

Pay your nephew what you want to pay Shang Tao. If he can't pull it, bring him to me nimfundishe kunoa kisu hapa mtaani.

3d animations is more or less similar to architecture. Most of the stuff, someone has to teach themselves eg software use, marketing, current design trends etc etc

Once you show him how to fish, instead of giving him the fish, if he has the drive, he will excel. A good comp plus internet for tutorials is all he needs.

Nothing beats teaching yourself through tutorials and trial & error. He sounds committed and self-driven enough to manage this as he'll need to motivate himself.
In a place where thought is abandoned, freedom can become a curse.
