This kind of thing almost brings tears. how can a human being,herself a woman and born of a woman, be so unkind to another? Honestly, who better to understand 'uchungu wa mzazi' than a fellow woman? This in no way means that it would have been acceptable for a male nurse to do that, ABSOLUTELY not.
This goes back to the values we profess as a society. Long ago, medical courses used to be a calling to serve fellow humanity. Today, with the rampant unemployment, so many are in it merely because it assures them of an income, not because they have a calling for the same.
Additionally, we need to observe ourselves and question our behavior as a society. Look at the average Kenyan who has no qualms jumping the traffic lights, not giving way to pedestrians and generally being selfish. What kind of attitude do you think such a person brings to the workplace?
