I once had a friend who turned out to be a formidable heavyweight boxer, and though he never made news, I watched in horror as his life and dreams collapsed.

Many used him as their dog, others praised him in a sadistic way, and in a short time he was lying in a pool of blood, dead.

We sponsor the belief that one can get rich through boxing, playing soccer, passing exams and the like. But this is 'Babylon'.

I believe we are to be responsible for each other, knowing wealth is a shared value that goes beyond cash, and status.

Violence.

Does one honestly think one can engage in it and escape its consequences?

Consequences both to the 'doer' and the 'doee'?

What did you do for your friend? Did you try to help him or just let him alone in 'Babylon'?

My take....@Mawinder is real.

All he is saying is instead of RAO using his energies fighting for useless things like the VIP lounge that are for his personal benefit he should be doing things that will assist the community.Since Conge is from Siaya he should take the lead and the rest of us will follow.

Is it not said that Charity begins at home??

We are ready to assist Conje get back to her feet but we have no cordinated way of doing it.Watu wa Siaya mpo?

That kind of tribal thinking is bogus. The notion that RAO must solve all health problems that Luos face does not make the slightest sense.
The whole charity begins at home thing is the kind of tribal thinking that Kenyans should be getting rid of. If you say charity begins at home then Conje's home was Nairobi. Therefore Nairobians should be the 1st to help Conje.

Also its hypocritical for you and Mawinder to complain about RAO when Kibaki does not even take care of his own family. KTN recently did an exposee showing how Kibaki's sister who raised him lives in absolute poverty. The Kenyatta family similarly has close relatives in absolute poverty.

The VIP lounge thing was mostly about respect versus discrimination. TNA folk like Kimemia were simply looking for ways to humiliate RAO as much as possible. It is a lack of class on their part.

Once again you types are looking at it through tribal lens. I am sure that if Kibaki was ever asked to use public toilets you would be screaming bloody murder.

And if you look at it from the perspective of security and efficient operation at the airport, it does not make sense for RAO to use public facilities. If you are operating an airport you do not want anything that can cause commotion.

A former Prime minister should be allowed to access VIP facilities. Only in tribally oriented Kenya do those in power seek to humiliate their political opponents and show an utter and thus show a complete lack of class Sick; Sick;

If we stick to the issue at hand the point will sink.It is about Conje and how we need to help her.And we believe if RAO took the initiative to lead us in helping her we could get somewhere.

Granted Kibaki, Uhuru, Ruto,you and I have relas who live in abject poverty and we may never be able to assist them out of the same.

All those issue you have raised about respect for RAO are true and yes Kimemia and Co can do better.Unfortunately respect is earned not demanded..........

@Bigchick
If you really want to help Conje then I do not understand why you have to wait for RAO to help her first.

Are you really that much of a tribalist ? You mean to tell me that Luos must first help Conje before you and others can help ?

You mean to tell me that in Kenya today, when someone needs medical assistance, members of other tribes will not help until the political leaders from a certain tribe help ?

What happened to the Kenya where members of the public would chip in for harambees before demanding that RAO first contribute ?

Your kind of thinking belongs in the 19th century. If this is how Kenyans think today then our country is in deep trouble. The tribal divisions are even worse then I thought based on what I am reading from bigchick and Mawinder here.

In essence if this is how Kenyans think then we are just as bad racists such as the neo-nazis and the Ku Klux klan. In fact we may be worse because we hypocritically complain about racism when our tribalism is more deeply embedded.

@Alba............If asking RAO and fellow Luos to lead/start an initiative to assist Conje is being tribal, then I agree am a deep tribalist.

However my point is, We need to come together and assit Conje and the coming together needs to be organized by the immediate family/clan/tribe.Tukiitwa tutakuja kuchanga.

Otherwise any other person trying more so a kiuk will be viewed with suspicion.................it wont be far fetched to think that people would imagine its a money making venture and not a gesture of goodwill.

Lets face it hata wewe ukiwa na issue you call your closest to organize something for you and it is them that invite the others.

Is he the only one supposed to help? How many times have we seen Ida paying her a visit and helping her in one way or another! Sorry to say but if she was from elsewhere she would be a national problem and the government would take up her problems
