After buying what used to the Francis thuo seat at the bourse, 'Member' is now a broker at the NSE.
I am trying to imagine how different they will operate as compared to the other stocks brokers. Any ideas?

Help me get it. I have been buying shares through them. How have they been doing it? I love the fact that I could buy and sell from any equity branch

What if they leverage on the over 18,000 equity agents spread all over Kenya and develop a system of buying and selling securities via agents?

Happy Hunting.

What Equity will gain most is in lack of settlement days since they are the ones who execute the trades hence in control of amounts to be credited or debited. hey! they could even charge a fee similar to what used to exist on NSE prompt board i.e same day settlement!!!

COOP 255,000 ABP 15.85; IMH 5,000 ABP 35.55; KQ 684,200 ABP 6.72; MTN 23,800 ABP 5.20

i hope they start an online trading system. i will never step in the banking hall. sell and buy shares online. either use Eazzy banking to withdraw to my mpesa or use Atm.

That would be a brilliant move. Coop too could leverage the same for its brokerage. This would rope in many wanjikus for them.

That settlement range will bring a very big difference I agree.

I am seeing them use their wide network of branches to rather than go the electronic way as the IT direction has got it's limitations that i am not seeing Member hack.

How many other banks apart from NIC, Equity and Kingdom have a seat at NSE?
Would you prefer the others as opposed to equity?
Knock hard and it will be opened. Ask and you will be answered. Seek and you shall find.
