Impressive statistic!Applause Applause Applause

Here's another one, Chelsea are the only side to have recorded more victories than defeats against United since the inception of the Premier League in 1992. The United treble-winning squad of 1998/99 were also unable to beat Chelsea in the Premier League, drawing home and away, before being thumped 5-0 at Stamford Bridge. It seems even before the cash reserves of Abramovich and the emergence of Mourinho, Chelsea had established themselves as one of Man Utd's bogey teams.

Btw i totally agree with @Winston, there might be a sending off in this match.

I think Chelsea controlled the midfield well but the idea of playing without a striker failed terribly. They moved the ball well in the middle of the pitch but there was no one to receive the ball at the front which allowed Vidic and Ferdinand to move forward.....both Keepers didn't really do much in the game. I also do not understand what Mourinho has against Mata, he's arguably Chelsea's best attacking midfielder and probably in the top three in the league. I think he would also have played well at the front as opposed to Hazard who's more suited to the flanks.

That was more of a point gained for Chelsea and two dropped for Man-u...The home team were stifled and Van Persie rarely got the space and time to make those killer strikes. Chelsea will be the happier of the two teams. For the type of strategy chelsea employed they didnt need a striker. Might as well have done a repeat of the Chelsea v barca/ Inter v barca tactics...But we should have seen this coming.

By the way...by not playing a striker...it meant Vidic and Fedinand were left jobless (and as they didnt venture upfield)...that left 10 chelsea players to contain the remaining 8 man-u players.

@Taz - Mata isnt fit enough...and to whom would he have supplied the ball without an out and out striker? Further Mata and even Hazard arent great defensively...and this game needed lots of tracking back.

I think Mourinho talks too much. But his walk was evident on the pitch. Some of his players were anonymous and for John Terry to be given man-of-the-match award speaks volumes. I thought he would bring his Real Madid attacking game, but this seemed like the Inter/Chelsea affairs of old.

His team's midfield was arguably stronger, but Cleverley was still getting the ball and putting in those passes. David de Gea would have taken a newspaper and sat on a stool, that was the state of Chelsea's attack.

I think they were trying to stiffle United, rather than attack United, for in England, there's only one team that can produce counterattack to devastating effect. GGMU!!

Chelsea were the favorites to lift the title due to the Mourinho factor, but their three games this season haven't been convincing enough to warrant that.

@ Winston.....Mata is not injured he only lacks match fitness same as Rooney who played well last night, Mourinho didn't even consider bringing him on for at least 15 min for Lampard who fizzled out later in the game. Anyway i don't think at the moment Chelsea are good enough (kama Barca/Spain) to play without a striker. You were in need of a target man at the front, I'm sure it was a bit frustrating seeing crosses coming in with no one there to receive the ball.
