My understanding is that the offer was closed on 15th Aug.After reading this story ,looks like the offer is still open. Why?Looks like these guys are determined to get the 90 per cent treshhold by whichever means necessary so as to compulsorily buy out the guys who did not accept the offer..
Th resolution(99.92%)passed at the EGM is not the same thing as acceptance of the offer which stood at 89% at the time of closure.

Do you think in your own common sense the willing parties can fail to cook the remaining 1% if it is 89%?by just including those who ignored and never sent proxies?

AccessKenya also held an
Extraordinary General Meeting on
Tuesday to ask shareholders to

from the NSE. The results
released by AccessKenya indicate
that holders of over 190,712,982

of the resolution, with 161,075

This percentage is for the members who were present at the EGM :
If the total shareholding is taken into account, the
percentage becomes 87.5

You must know that anybody who didnt show up is deemed to have accepted so its a done deal.

Take this to the bank,ak will never trade again in the nse, since they got the 75 plus 1% needed to de-list.the 90% is just made for compulsory aquisition of all shares of ak and its only dimension who can buy.you must note that shares appreciate because they trade,so its a disaster if you dont sell.

I got in Access to stay in not to trade, so percieved value was not my aim. DD do not plan to trade, ditto yours truly. so will gladly take those divindeds and then bequeth(sp) my tiny holdings.

buying shares is making an investment, it is NOT like depositing money in the bank! You should NOT expect to get back the same amount you put in - it can be lower or higher. In this case it is lower!

Would you be making the same demand if the offer price from DD was sh140?
