Is KCB & BBK still have headroom for appreciation?

I asked the same of BAT when it hit 200. I had bid 199 and refused to buy above that and sadly it never looked back.

Its always good to pick stocks that you are convinced are truly bargains so that if the worst happen you will be able to sail through waiting for the good time. That said, i would, like @Angelica _ann, question KCB, BBK & Safaricom, Scangroup. ... I would however add CFC and PanAfric to the list of cheap stocks

Don't forget ARM & Bamburi because the infrastructure play in Kenya, EAC and the wider Eastern Africa region (S. Sudan & Ethiopia) is still being grossly underestimated...

I add ARM to the list even though it may look expensive simply for the same reason @Realtreaty added scangroup.... ARM is seriously boosting capacity and I also believe that is being underestimated!

hapa ndugu umeongea kama watu kumi.

how can anyone claim arm, safaricom to be cheap.
@guru. if they are increasing capacity now, the share will only be cheap when this comes online , and by then share may have corrected to even a lower price than today to justify that cheapness.

The question is,how do you define value?Do you use the past, present or future? But the future will always remain uncertain,so any investment is a gamble and life must go on.

@Aguytrying ARM is a growth stock not a value stock...

You DO NOT buy growth stocks when the growth finally comes online! That is actually the time to sell!

smile You were not alone buddy. When BAT was at 140 I was assuming how they could split the stock by 5 so that I buy @ 28 but it kept climbing even with the antsmoking cruelity it faced to what it now is at 570 and going higher.Applause I think with all the contreversies Mumias will one day rise from scaled price of 4 back to 50s. It may soon put a plant or buy out South Sudan miller.Drool

I thought the thread's heading is about CURRENTLY CHEAP stocks that will make someone good money by END of 2014!

As for me, stocks that can give 50% and above by end of 2014 are the one that are currently 'depressed' i.e. KK, Total, Mumias, CFC Stanbic, but will depend on how management pull the firms out of current woes, except for CFC which is in perfect form right now!

I see ur point. I guess I'm a value stock die hard. but id buy an undervalued growth stock if there was one.

@Realtreaty @guru, on Scangroup, notice the "capacity boost" is via share swap arrangement and Scangroup will be issued additional shares to Cavendish. This deal is a dilution galore and is likely to result to a decline in Scangroup EPS. That, and looking at the chart below, leads to dislike of the counter at current price.
