Used the facility recently and my opinion is it was a worthy investment, I am not sure why people thought/think it was a white elephant or waste of money.

Ignoring the amount of money spent,(which I don't know) I found the facility really good, nothing extravagant, in fact if anything, other towns in kenya should have similar sized facilities. It does not look like a white elephant or waste of money to me, if anything, it is the kind of investment that should spur growth huko mashinani.

Have never landed there and have no plans to But the airport was meant to boost business in the western region. And how does it compare to Kisumu Airport in view of proximity of the 2?

kisumu is 2 hours away, may be 1 and half if the roads were good, they don't need to compete. What impressed me was the modesty of the airport.

Eldoret is bigger than Isiolo airport, right?

At first I thought it was about Njeri, of Kemboi fame.

But I agree that Eldoret airport is a good investment. I have landed there a few times and I have nothing to complain about.

I expect its value to grow now that the 'siasa mabaya' that harmed the Eldoret economy have ended.
