i have seen a road constructed nicely with a good drainage, then someone steals the manhole covers meant to prevent solid waste from going into the drainage system, then the proprietors next to this place convert the holes into dustbins, as in every morning anafagia uchafu anatupa hapo, i feel nothing when i pass-by such a place and their shops are flooded. People need to learn including the learned Kenyans who throw waste out of their speeding car windows not caring what will happen to them....

Hapana, in so long as the people who live along Thika road have contributed to the problem....the drainage design wasn't just right!!!!

I read somewhere it will cost aus 200M a year to maintain the road.. Sema Cash cow.. adding to this fundamental 'flows'.The highway has its problems e.g the narrowing at Pangani as you approach the CBD. Last we complained about the floods.. somebody here in Wazua told us the rains then were unprecedented and heavy. Well... my dear taxpayers, that road floods even when just 2 boys, those from mathare who take a dip on the river as a holiday passtime, take a pee on the road as they bask before plunging in for another round..
