There are numerous inconsistencies in religion that if you try to dig deeper, they tell u NOT TO QUESTION GOD. The intelligent hit a brick wall n walk away.

@simo ask. I invite you to ask those questions you have.
And promise to reflect on my answers, even reconsider, research objectively with open heart and open mind the evidence I will share with you.

Shoot...

@AlphDoti, Are we [human beings] alone in the whole universe? Or are there other intelligent beings?

Which is the true religion? What's the fate of the other religions' followers?

Whether through natural causes or accidents, who kills? God or Satan?

Make my evening @AlphDoti.

Hahaha! @quicksand, does a true argument exist, and what is it about, or what can it be about?

I like they way @symbols and @tycho have put it.

Atheists are not necessarily more intelligent.
Two people can be equally intelligent, but the atheist uses his brain more, while most of the theists tend to be complacant.

Therefore, people mistakenely conclude that Atheists are more intelligent. But the true conclusion is that they are thinkers.

I congratulate the atheists
...because they have been thinking.
And they have made conclusions about some things about the Creator. They have made conclusions about what Creator can be and what He cannot be.

Huh? @mkeiyd should be fielding that one I think. But truth is different for each subject or person. Perhaps, there is no universal truth, only information (or knowledge), the completeness or lack thereof.

I'd say the only true argument or conversation is about being or not being. Then knowledge and Scripture, or no Scripture like in traditional African societies are arranged neatly around it.

Politics is the main agenda. What do we want? To be, or not to be; now that, is the question.

Who said that if one does not believe in any religion then they are definitely atheists?? We have to broaden our knowledge before we accuse some of not believing in God!

Laughing out loudly that means everybody thought you were a jackass. Note the words 'less intelligent'

You see I was that active young man in church, from YCS, chapel prefect, choirmaster and youth leader....so they assumed it would follow that I become a priest......but naah!!!!

A University of Rochester study using 63 scientific studies stretching back over decades has concluded that religious people are less intelligent than non-believers.

It's scientific. Your thoughts?

This one is mberrow! Shame on you Pure attack by the enemy! I'd rather remain with my un-intelligence in the Lord!

I think it is true for fanatics...Like those who would travel to Nakuru to be healed by Dr Owuor... or those who will get a loan to panda mbegu! Religion is the opium of the people...Marx

You may think them gullible, but such is 'great faith'. The Bible is rife with such stories.. Think of Noah building an Ark, you'd have said he's on drugs? Abraham sacrificing his only child? and many many more. Media only airs the stories that sell, there are those whose lives were transformed by such travel.. Pastor's who dupe faithfuls will rue themselves on the day of judgment.

there will always be a cacophony of arguements advancing the atheist or religious ideology with each set highly intent on outproving the other resulting in an endless back and forth that heads nowhere, for us to head somewhere it is paramount to recognise that these two ideologies form part of the all round human expirience that is life hence humanity should embrace the faith that comes with religion and the logic that drives the atheist mind and above all respect is important, i may not adhere to religious tenets but i will bow my head and pray with my religious friends appriciating the role of religion in their lives.
on the thread topic i think cognitive bias might have influenced the results, i mean a religious person might be deemed less intelligent becsuse he will readily despense with logic on matters religion and an atheist might be deemed intelligent because of embracing logic
