There's the question about the Trinity. I believe in One God,the creator of heaven and earth. The order in creation gives a peek on His nature. A human is said to be made up of body, soul and spirit (3 in 1),space is defined using the dimensions of length, width and height (3 in 1),time is made up of the past, the present and the future (3 in 1). The sustainer of living organisms on earth is water which exists in solid (ice),liquid and gaseous form (steam). . .again,3 states of a substance with the same chemical composition. God is Father,Son and Holy Spirit (3 yet one).

Muslim's like to selectively use the authority of the Bible. Jesus is not just another prophet,He is '. . . the image of the invisible God' (Colossians 1:15). The Mosaic Law (10 commandments and rituals) was given to men so that we realize we need Jesus for salvation (Galatians 3:21-26). There is only one sin that will take anyone to hell, that's is whether or not you believed in Jesus Christ (John 16:5-11). Life and death has been set before you, choose life!

Your arguement falls face first in that you clearly do understand that the teachings of Paul are well corroborated by other writers and prophets such as Luke,John,Mathew,Mark.........to a fault and without contradiction.......The same cannot be said of the Quran......Face it........Muhammad did not write the Qur'an; he may have been able to write small amounts, but was not able to write down a whole book >We know this since we are told he was illiterate. Various editions of the Qur'an were written down in the 30 years or so following the death of Muhammad, but Muslim histories, such as Sahih Bukhari, tell us that these were contradictory and incomplete. Only after the death of the majority of eyewitnesses at the battle of Yamama was a serious attempt made to collect together the sayings of Muhammad. According to al-Bukhari,the oldest by far of the accounts of the writing of the Qur'an,no single person could remember the whole of the Qur'an,and different parts were taken from different people. The accounts were in different dialects, and were therefore translated into the Arabic of the Qur'an at the time they were written down. Once the new official 'collection' of the Qur'an had been produced the order went out to destroy all the other variants. The official document was made in the reign of the Caliph Uthman, and is called the 'Uthmanic collection'.

The writer-in-chief of the Qur'an was Zaid ibn Thawbit, who had made an earlier collection, destroyed after the Uthmanic collection. Zaid was not a prophet; no-one has ever claimed that he was and to do so would undermine the claims of Muhammad to be the last prophet. The Qur'an was thus produced by a fallible human scholar, from the memories of other fallible humans, after most eyewitnesses were dead and when no-one could remember the whole of what was written down. It was translated by this fallible human scholar from local dialect into Qur'anic Arabic.............

Seriously......heh...!

@Alph,
I believe that Jesus (Issa) really didn't mince words about who He is and if you read very carefully you can see that. The Gospels (Mathew,Mark,Luke and John) are first-hand accounts of His ministry; each emphasizing on the different facets of His life. Careful study of the Bible will show this. . .for instance,Mathew (Jesus as King),Mark (Jesus as a Servant),Luke (Jesus as Man) and John (Jesus as Divine). A sample some verses showing Jesus' Divinity:

John 1:1-5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

John 10:29-31
My Father, who has given them to me,is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one.' Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him,

John 5:18
Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

John 17:20-21
'My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message,21that all of them may be one,Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. . .'

I don't see anywhere Jesus denying His divinity. . .I think from the above quotes,Jesus is either a Liar,a Lunatic or LORD (sorry, there's no the 'none of the above' option). Take your pick.

I think the common thread that runs through whichever scripture you look at,is about spiritual development and departure from material things - things that enslave us and cause us to do evil things (to each other). Most believe in one God. God being most merciful and benevolent will not split hairs if we all arrive at the pearly gates in that exalted form in which he envisioned all of us. We HAVE to believe that GOODNESS/HOLINESS is an inherent part of all of us. Freewill allows us to choose the paths we take.

The problem with equality is that we desire that it be with those that have more than us rather that those that have less

Let me begin from where we left with Wenz. This thread is growing very fast,i can hardly catch up.

I understand your concern..I want you to meditate upon this verse of 2cor 4:3-4

'But if our Gospel be hid,it is hid to them that are lost:In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God,should shine unto them.

My dear sister,God does not make mistakes .There is no single human being whose name is written in the book of life who shall die b4 hearing the gospel of truth. No none, not even one & thats why He has not come yet. There is a particular group who has not been reached. But of course not all will go to heaven even xtians as mkristo had stated in his post.

Without Holiness no man shall see God.Dear God,mould me to be a vessel of honour at this End times,to remain Obedient to your Word in all situations.Amen!

@ngwono... u kno that no one,no one at all can call Jesus their Christ unless the HolySpirit reveals that to them..no amount of theological discourse nor reasonin can convince nor convict one to a revelation of God's grace n mercy, who Jesus Christ, what redemption from sin and eternal death means nor the significance of the Cross. Please realise that in much talk sin is not afar off. You will quote and quote and quote some more from the bible...others will quote even more from other religious writings..n u'll never agree since bases are different!! You cannot convict someone into Christianity! It is the Lord who convicts n saves..not our intellectual grasp of the scripture.. Hope and answer to the author of this thread..n for contributors that haven't known Him as Lord and Savior, lies with God..not our arguments.

The secret things belong to the Lord our God but those things which are revealed belong to us and our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law..... Deutoronomy 29:29
