No. It is about African universities and leadership. If a former lecturer and president wouldn't know that, tell me who would. Learn first to treat your time as you would your money, then treat your money as you do your time.

@sepuku, the 2002 accident. I have stated that so many times. I remember Kibaki giving an unwritten speech in western around 2004. It was about education. Encouraging students to continue with studies, he said: '..muendelee, muendelee std 6,7,8,9,10...' . When govt records get de-classified in 2043, utaskia maneno

@ Ubaks was right and you are wrong. A bit of history of our education system. . . Young boys esp those not very good at herding used to be rounded up by DO and colonial chief and sent to school. The aim was to create literate karanis for th colonial gava Basic education was up to class 4 at which level they sat a common entrance exam. Graduates at this level were employed as teachers and clerks! The bright ones and those whose parents had more cows were sent to intermediate school for class 5,6,7 and 8. Here there was an exam my history forgets the name. With an intermediate certificate you were eligible for a serious gava job then there was junior secondary and since most africans could not pronounce bomu wani (form 1) they simply said one has gone to class nine with form 2 being referred to as class 10 . At the end of juniour sec there was KJCSE.holders of these certificates were serious honchos. The choices were employment or proceeding to clas 11 and 12 i hope you get the drift forms 3 and 4. No need for telling your the cambridge graduates at grade 12 are some of the most prominent kenian scholars and founding fathers. Others proceeded to A-levels then Makerere Dar-Esalam or The UoN. Wengine went majuu Kefake is a brilliant scholar and academic . He taught at Makerere after LSE . As finance and planning minister he penned serious sessional papers that defined the development agenda of our young nation. @siringi, I don't dispute that Kibaki is a bright guy. But, after the 02 accident he's not been the same. I doubt a man who was in govt when the system changed to 8-4-4 doesn't know how the structure is now

@ you miss the point in some bunduz like where yours truly comes from todate we refer form as class 9 form 4 as class 12. Ask around Ubaks was right the more things change the more they remain the same. The proposed reforms to 8-4-4 will take us back to the seventies.
