The month of Ramadhan is one of great importance to all our Muslim brothers and sisters in the world.

We are fulfilling one of the 5 pillars of Islam - FASTING and DEEP REFLECTING in God.

Let us increase our activities such as visit friends, the sick, collect gifts to share during Eid, share stories about fasting and its importance especially with the children.

NOTE: Those who are sick, elderly, or on a journey, and women who are pregnant or nursing are permitted to break the fast and make up an equal number of days later in the year.

See this, only 5 minutes...

For those who love knowledge: We follow the teachings of God's Messengers - Adam, Moses, Abraham, David, Noah, Jesus, Mohammed (peace be upon them all)

1. Fasting in the time of Esther (Esther 4:3 and 9:31)
2. Fasting in the experience of Daniel (Daniel 6:18 and 9:3), and
3. Fasting in the time of David (2 Samuel 12:22-23).
4. In the Torah or time of Moses (Exodus 34:28)
5. What about Nehemiah 9:1; 1Kings 21:27
6. And Joel 1:14; 2:15
7. Babylonian time Zechariah 8:19
8. Elijah (1Kings 19:8)
9. Jesus advised (Matthew 17:21 and Mark 9:29, Matthew 4:2)
10. To Peter and Paul (Acts 10:30; 14:23; 27:33; and 1Corinthians 7:5).
11. And finally during Muhammad time (pbuh) “O ye who believe! fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you that ye may (learn) self-restraint…” [Qur'an 2:183-185]

To all Muslim brothers & sisters, their families & all Wazua club. Have a blessed month of prayer, fasting and reflection smile smile

Ramadhan karim and Saum maqbul

Every year in the month of Ramadan, all Muslims fast.
- From dawn until sundown,
- abstaining from food, drink, and sexual relations (during the day only).

Those exempted are:
- the sick
- or elderly
- or on a journey,
- or women who are pregnant
- or women who are nursing

NOTE: they are permitted to break the fast and make up an equal number of days later in the year.
If they are physically unable to do this, they must feed a needy person for every day missed.

Children begin to fast (and to observe the prayer) from puberty, although many start earlier.

What are the benefits?
- fast is most beneficial to health
- it is a method of self purification
- By cutting oneself off from worldly comforts, even for a short time
a fasting person gains true sympathy with those who go hungry as well as growth in one's spiritual life.

Quran 2:183:
Quote:
O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you (people of Moses, Jesus, etc and all other prophets), that ye may (learn) self-restraint.

Bible:
Quote:
Nehemiah 9:1
Esther 4:3
Esther 9:31
Psalms 35:13
Psalms 69:10
Psalms 109:24
Jeremiah 36:6
Daniel 6:18
Daniel 9:3
Joel 2:12
Matthew 17:21
Mark 9:29
Luke 2:37
Matthew 4:2

Ramadhan Karim

It has been a great month without religious confrontations. I know that is what God/Allah desires for His people. It is my prayer that the same shall continue all year long..
