I asked God for a sign and He gave it to me in the form of you guys (believe it or not) Wish me luck! Vallerrie, You'll be OK. 14 years ago I did exactly what you have you have done - in a depressed economy too. Best decision I ever made. And the bastard who nudged me to leave? I could kiss him if I met him today. "The opposite of a correct statement is a false statement. But the opposite of a profound truth may well be another profound truth." (Niels Bohr)

I think everyone in this thread has looked at this quitting a frustrating employment as a positive thing. Let me argue from another angle. What if Vallerie here is running away from her ineptitude and mediocrity? What if her so called nagging, control freak boss is a perfectionist who demands high standards and our Vallerie is unwilling to apply herself, to better herself and she is comfortable with her low standards?
I am not suggesting this is the case with Vallerie. I am just exposing my ignorance of who she really is and who her boss is but arguing that all possibilities should be considered. The possibility that the boss could be the problem and the possibility that Vallerie herself could be the problem.
What is wrong with this advise? Suck it up Vallerie. Do what your boss wants you to do. If he is still mad do it better, if he is still mad do it even better, stay in your job, work harder, try different things until you get it the right. Improve yourself. Don't run away from your failures. Face them and get better.

Val did her act Kitambo and is either chilling with her grandma or is with a new employer or her business is getting on fine just about to break even. A person who is low in performance rarely has guts to quit they wait to be sacked .Val from her expression hapa is a go getter and knows what she wants and take no bs. Don't run away from your failures. Face them and get better. Quote:A boss from hell As an executive, Gates met regularly with Microsoft's senior managers and program managers. Firsthand accounts of these meetings describe him as verbally combative, berating managers for perceived holes in their business strategies or proposals that placed the company's long-term interests at risk. He often interrupted presentations with such comments as, "That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!" and, "Why don't you just give up your options and join the Peace Corps?" The target of his outburst then had to defend the proposal in detail until, hopefully, Gates was fully convinced. When subordinates appeared to be procrastinating, he was known to remark sarcastically, "I'll do it over the weekend. I guess that's why he is the richest man in the world It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt... -Mark Twain

Whew! Sorry, anyway he is quite a handful! ...Show him the middle figure and move on (joking...You will need him for reference later!). For the time being play by his rules while thinking of an exit strategy...Don't leave in a huff...Be good to him and the rest of the staff... Let him not think like he is the reason for your exit... Hapana, guy could be doing things and doesn't know they hurts others, its good akiambiwa he is tha pain in the A, maybe he will treat the next person better....
