Pole sana @Chepkel
I know just how annoying it is! Kenyans seldom speak out.. I always wonder why 13people seated in a matatu fear just 2 people(driver & conductor) *sigh*
If driving,it's of course tricky to pull some stunts but if you're in a matatu..then pull a stunt or two or ten!
As for the bit about a woman being beaten on the streets,i once witnessed this.. I was walking with a friend of mine(a lady) when we heard screams from a dark street corner, peering closer.. it was a young lady with a man smashing his huge fists on her face. Surrounding the scene were about 12men,all watching silently. My friend and I were beyond furious.. We had to break the fight by pulling the man away, for which he threatened to beat us up & kill us(and he was a huuuge man!) but we dared him to even try lay a pinkie on any of us. Long story short, our guts paid off and we walked away with the terrified girl(apparently his 22yr old girlfriend) with the man following us with insults. What he didn't know is that we had txtd another pal and asked him to come with cops. Ghafla bin vu,cops came and the idiot was taken away. The now 20+ onlookers wanted to know who we were and why we stood up for that girl amidst the danger of being beaten up by the man
We live in a very interesting society, full of fearful people. If we all stood up for what we believe in,things would be different. Don't give up @Chepkel,stand up and speak out whenever you can! 5 cheers to you btw!
