Where one can make a prudent decision and not a board room directed decision or prudence Very true..where however was the prudence when buying #AccessKenya at 35? what is that "true value" you are talking about? What's your rationale of valuing Access at 35? Fact is competition is offering better internet solution at a fraction of #AccessKenya's price n cost hitting #AccessKenya both on production costs n market reach. I'd like to hear your projections on viability of #AccessKenya if status quo is to remain. ..Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven...Matt5:16 - 1769 Oxford King James Bible 'Authorized Version

As they say once beaten twice shy, well I think I understand your position. However the two are very different one had a fight with govt, the other has approval from govt, one had to go through a length process on due diligence the other has already committed to a price, one had the majority sharesholders with over 65% agreeing to sell the othe has the majority at 30%. DD knows the pains it has subjected shareholders to, on suspension, it knows the confidence levels some shareholders have on takeovers after KK, it indirectly sends a fear statement that if you decide not to sell you will remain a shareholder in a private company, then as rat does it again sends another statement pointing out that they have the right to increase the offer price. My humble advise to AK shareholders, DD needs AK and they will do anything to have it, just stay put and your fortunes will increase, don't look at having bought at 4 and you will sell at 14 rather look at 4 and 20.

I'd like to hear your projections on viability of #AccessKenya if status quo is to remain. Well my average price is 6.7 or 6.8, I have stated in posts above that am making a profit above 600k if I sell at 14. There was time this share was 35, many shareholders bought at prices above the current 14 that's being offered to them by DD. my question was is it prudent to have bought at a higher price and sell at low? Yet the buyer clearly states that he may increase the offer price.... Why not hold on till he increases. Correct me if am wrong AK is still the largest Internet service provider, with the largest corporate base, the competition you are talking about if given the customer base of AK it will crumble. Remember DD also has a subsidiary in the market IS and they seen reason to buy AK . About value, it was selling at 35, before some analogue directors started making noise of meetings on emails, somens eating on fibre etc, was it overvalued at the time? The potential for AK is enormous, I don't need to explain the details you just need to look at what's happening digitally around us and you see 14 is a throw away, no wonder the buyer didnt bother to waste time on due diligence.

@jamani, there comes a time when one needs to accept and move on. Whoever bought at 35 should just accept he/she was coned/conned, accept the deal and 'revenge' elsewhere (but not at the NSE, hiyo sio yake). Receive with simplicity everything that happens to you.” ― Rashi

Why do we only think that the business of AK is only ISP. Why do we think DD is doing us a favour to acquire AK at 14. Why dont we ask ourselves what DD is really looking for? And without due diligence they offer a price to acquire 100%. As you say it's my money, I agree. What are the consequences i face? negative consequences delayed payments on myside, positive consequences increased offer for all. Does it pain? Not at all.

Is anyone who bought KQ at 135 still waiting for 135? The same applies for AK coz paying 35 was very optimistic when the PER was 35 or higher! Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

@vvs surely can you compare KQ to AK? One is in the loss bracket and the other in profit bracket. Did I say we wait for 35? once again i emphasize 14 is a throw away price even DD knows it and they have stated clearly they might increase the offer pice, why not push for the increase, what harm is there?

I think what @Jamani is trying to emphasise is that AK has got its footing back and is in the right path with potential for serious positive growth and consolidation of development in the next 3-5 years which DD is taking advantage of while investors who have stayed for long are being denied because of the Somens. My investment is not much in this but i am going nowhere. I gave in during Uniliver who had 75% but not this!!! Even if it goes back to 6 bob sawa. Thieves

They only needed 13% of the floating shares to meet the target as the non-trading shares make up 62%. Is it not time we change the definition of a public listed company? 50%+1 King G wrote:Jamani wrote:Even without including the ID issues which is a serious concern the KES14 is a reap off. My broker has been on my case from thursday last week urging me to throw in the towel, they even want to send someone to personally collect the signed form, now i know that they are being paid to ensure the sale goes through. Anyway as stated elsewhere on Wazua they might have already got the 75%, sad for me......

Still not interested with the offer. Will be delisted with those few shares. $15/barrel oil... The commodities lehman moment arrives as well as Sovereign debt volcano!
