How?
The bible is very clear about homosexuality. When one of its leaders starts making such comments then it just goes to confuse everyone else. Should we follow the bible teachings or set them aside and follow the individual opinions of church leaders?
The Bible isn't just the revealed word of God. It is also a statement of human wisdom.
And it is upon us to be diligent. The other day I was watching 'the Borgias' and there's this place the new Pope tells his son Cesare to help him interpret 'The silence of God'.
And my mind went back to the men and women of the ancient of days. And I'm filled with anguish. Is the Spirit within this temple? Now?
The matter is so crucial. 'God loves man'. God loves me. Who am I? I am everyone. Everything and nothing.
I am the evolution of human consciousness. Consciousness of the silence of God, which alas, is so eloquent.
From Genesis to Revelation I see Man's consciousness of God changing along with fixed 'motifs'. And so is it with other holy books.
And at every turn God appropriates the Sin of the world; an ever expanding world.
Let us not forget that awareness of God's presence transforms us to His likeness. Imagine there are some people who are not invited to this healing, and transforming moment.
And to keep some people off, this exclusive God has employed some people to do the police work.
Yet we are all sinners and our righteousness is filthy rags. Surely the idea of a homophobic God is untenable!
To think that doing 'good', attending mass and practicing heterosexuality accounts for holiness is idol worship and departure from truth.
