Many churches enforce a strict SUNDAY dress code for ladies who are ministries such as choir, ushering etc. Even the lady preachers are not spared; most will be told beforehand that trousers on the pulpit are a complete no-no.

What's interesting is that the same rule doesn't seem to during the week.

Is this really based on the Bible? Could it be that we have imposed aspects of our culture in our churches?

Google the bible and find out

This could be another agent of the devil! Whom are you to judge others... and who are others to judge you? Go to church to pray, not to look at what others are doing

@Mukiri, why the insult? I'm not an agent of the devil; I'm actually a Christian. Born again.

@mukiha, I've actually read the Bible and haven't found anything to back the practice. That's why I came to try and find an answer from wazua.

I doubt you will find this in the bible. But its fine to enforce a dress code so that as people pay attention to you as the speaker, whithout being distracted by the way you are dressed. This also applies to Sossionlets ( teachers)

@JL unfortunately what you see is people claiming the commandments and practising something else.
The genuine believers practising the commandments of God, are shunned.

@mukiha, @Mukiri it is you who should read your Bible. You claim to know but you know is what your pastors tell you!

@JL, study Islam and you'll not be disappointed. I invite you to reflect, to reconsider, to research objectively with open heart and open mind
the evidence that are there.

@Justice League, check who makes that rule, is it the men or the women in the church. Mostly its men to cover their inadequacies.

Show me where it is.

Here I show you, and to @Mukiri as well.
I wish you could at least believe in something! Your own Bible. Your own Bible, what does it say?

God instructed the nation of ancient Israel
In Deuteronomy 22:5: "God detests anyone" who goes against this.

Your Paul says
In 1 Timothy 2:9-10: I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.

Also God says
Do not mix things that He has created separately: Deuteronomy 22:9-11 and Leviticus 19:19.

Some of you will run quickly and say
But Jesus came to abolish these laws, look again Matthew 5:17:
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them."

No wonder Church leaders keep falling scandal in the churches d'oh! Liar Pray

So these people you see dressed like this are devils in sheep's skin. What you see is satan himself in human body!

You all agree that "unlawful" desire
is considered sin by the main religions including Christianity.
Because this is a damaging lust than eventually take over a man and eventually make him destroyed.

Further your Bible says:
Mathew 5:28: "But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart."

Also another place says:
if a woman makes a man lust after her on purpose is like a prostitute.

Islam prevents this tendency
by prescribing mode of dressing where women cover themselves up in order to achieve modestly and not to cause lust a man.

But you see, we copy the West.
They lie to women and say you need to be "liberated".
They tell women when you are liberated, you can show off your flesh and sex everywhere.
THis way, they can be able to use women to achieve their business objective: fashion, movie industry, music, advertisement etc

They have no regard to God's command at all
So if you copy the West, then it means you are going against your own Bible teachings which say, "Do not copy the culture of the foreigners"

I believe Adam and Eve used to walk around naked until they ate the forbidden fruit, that's when they started feeling ashamed of their nakedness. ideally we could all be walking naked and nothing would happen.

My only request is that you refer to the Bible as "The Bible" and not "your Bible". Thanks.

I see umenifuata bumper-to-bumper...

As for the Muslim fisher-of-men, Jesus Christ said Matthew 22:36-40. Could the reason why prostitutes and chokoras don't go to church be judgmental people? Go pray the Lord your God and let His people be.

Good practices ndio nini sasa? Love supersedes everything. Was Jesus driven to sin when a prostitute washed His feet? I wonder what 'good practises' you would have quoted there. In the same measure, will you be led to sin when your wife starts acting up?

Focus on God my brother.
