@seppuku on impreza being underpowered, i beg to differ. Do a throttle body service, better still change the throttle to that of an EJ20. it fits bang on! come back and report. "For i am the master and the captain of my fate"

Guys,
Just to digress abit,I'm thinking of importing a car for selling.
If I brought in a:
Subaru B4 2 Litre Black 2006 model Selling Price: Kshs 900,000
Would that sell fast? Targeting to sell within maximum 6 weeks.

Having owned 4 vehicles (2 of them being Subaru legacy - which is my current vehicle as well) in the last 6 years,I think I can offer you the formula I used: I looked at what I could afford and what I wanted the vehicle for. So, look into the following: -How much money are you willing or do you want to spend? - Maintenance costs - how often will your car need repairs/service and at how much. - Fuel consumption - bei ya mafuta ni ghali - 1500cc or 2000cc - the more cylinders/cc the more fuel it consumes - Safety rating - how many airbags etc - Where will you be driving - around town or up country - all wheel drive, front wheel, or 4 wheel drive? - Will this be your daily runner or for biz - How many passengers will you be carrying on average or most of the time I sat down, narrowed down my top 3 or 4 vehicles that I wanted. Plugged in the pros and cons into a spreadsheet - the one with most pros is the one I bought! One last thing: It'll be your car, get what your heart desires, the one that will make you happy! Personal opinion: Subarus are good cars. Been happy with the two legacies that I've owned! Good luck! willing to spend 1.2 -1.5 million maintenance cost is not an issue(disregard) displacement 1800(1.8 L)- (2.0L)2000 safety rating not an issue driving around town with an occassional drive to my rural home this will be for daily commute to work passengers -two penny -stocker weka hiyo kwa spread sheet yako unipe jawabu in the alternate peg your spending range at 1.5m and you could get a neat c180 i have not owned this car, used to admire it but two experienced mechanics highly discouraged me from touching it, both recommended the E200...

Now each swears that theirs is the best choice and would never touch any other brands- well except the xtrail guy who moans excessive fuel consumption... My Honda pal has had like three Honda while the Forrester guy started with like two imprezas before graduating to forresters- he's had two... what is is that addicts?
How do wazuans rank these cars (ranked withe the king at no 1) I have seen Kia Sportage and Ford something i can remember the name PS test drove a Forrester an I think Subarus are overrated! Personal opinion:- stay away from the X-trail, i do not think this car needs to be compared with those mentioned here, shida za sensors zikianza its not funny, fuel consumption is poor, someone very close to me owned one, more like i owned it too, drove it often so siku za shida tulikuwa tunalia pamoja, we sold it to the 1st bidder!!!! Add the kluger to you list maybe...

Im i right @ngong duty for BL5 2006 is around 515K duty for BP5 2006 is around 380K duty for BL5 2007 is around 690K @pierce 900K for a BL5 would be very cheap..considering the duty..and the factors below.. taking into account a minimum profit margin of at least 100K so the landed cost of the car would be 800K. Taking away the port charges 20K, registration 12K, DOF Usd 82(7.5K), MSS 1.2K, clearing - 10K. Total additional charges would be 50K. This would mean to make the profit you would need to have a CIF of 235K approx Usd 2,670...and i doubt you'll get a BL5 at that price.. if you do manage to get one at that price...let me know.. Life and beer are very similar........chill for best results.
