The reasons for the downgrade are quite interesting. When valuing a company do you value a company as it is or what you anticipate would happen ...... am just wondering, did the PUMA deal really mean this much to KK.

I thought KK was in good shape when they were looking for suitors although we might argue that the books then were cooked and PUMA saw through the farce.

“The company’s problems are seen to be much bigger than anticipated. Investors who had been willing to hold onto the share initially are now losing their will to hang on, following the series of bad reports on the counter,” said Suntra Investment Bank’s head of research Johnson Nderi.

"everyday there's a bad story, beating the the emotional limits of even the staunchest shareholders. the news has truths but effects of some can't be quantified yet.
its like a sell button being pressed everyday" said Aguy, Wazua.

**read wanjiku. ... today the counter saw a +3.1% rebound on a low volume of 81,400 shares in 22 deals. should the big boys check in with their high volume sales, the share will tank big time to sub 8. ... that said, high risk speculation could yield good very short term gains as the counter rebound

Laughing out loudly When you are dating a woman you see her very good because she comes wearing her musk and you assume she is the best. Once you marry her she washes out the musk infront of you and you run away that she was not the actual lady of your house. As simple as that!Sad

Alot of bad news has been factored into the share price...I believe KK is not KQ...despite both businesses being volatile...once the stock hits a stride...it will be up up up...the heavy dumping at this current low prices will do justice to the stock in the near term...KK will be profitable in 2013....when it rains it pours...but the storm is over now....on that note I'm going in....I see value where others are seeing fire.

State steps in to solve KenolKobil - KPRL row

The minister has said that the government cannot allow such a major investor like KenolKobil to collapse since it will dent the image of the country. The company has also employed many Kenyans, Energy and Petroleum cabinet secretary Davis Chirchir noted. He said a solution must be found in the next one or two weeks.

Liar Why do you think so? Firms do not stay on NSE just because their shares are above 100 Kes. Access are not moving out because of poor price but because the owners wanbt to sell it and move elsewhere!

At one point Puma energy wanted to buy off access Kenya. well, its currently trading at a bargain.

MSc and KQ are BIG co.'s and have very attractive prices right now for a lucrative buyer who wants majority shareholding.

Can't recall Puma wanting to buy access Kenya..... Ak is suspended from trading awaiting a better offer than 14 or Dimension data takes it at that price, after EGM in August.

KenolKobil now selling assets! This is not good at all. Kisumu depot is one of their important depots for that region.

You need to do some more research @mufasa.

For those who were at the kenol CP forum yesterday, you got an assurance from the Group CEO - Ohana that they will be profitable this year certainly.

On the article, it appears it's the work of the enemies. The OTS matters is before the ERC and will be resolved very shortly.

Although my selfish reason would be for the OTS matter not to be resolved. It just allows Kenol to import their fuel efficiently and bypass the KPC ullage and KPRL, saving the extra chums spent at KPRL for no value add.
Bingo! In a weird sense, KK may make more per liter as is does NOT pick up the pricier KPRL fuel!
