Did my MBA in Strathmore and though initially was skeptical about the cost (>Shs 1m) for the 2 year course...think its one of the best decisions i ever made in mt life.

Really enjoyed the classes and learning experience plus classes were only on Thur, Fri and Sat which fitted with my hectic work schedule...

Strath MBA has a 1 week module in IESE Barcelona, (Top 10 Business school in the world) where the learning in that one week was enough to make one feel they are ready to be a CEO.

Would definately recommend...made a difference in how approach my work and personal investments so it was totally worth it. Broadened horizons!

I wonder what the students in barca feel ready to be after a full two year programme.

@nakujua - I did my MBA at Strathmore Business School and I can Guarantee you the one week module in IESE Barcelona is worth more than the over 1.3M cost of the MBA leave alone the networks you make with the classmates. I had recovered half of my fees from doing business with classmates by the end of the second year.

At Least some hope, in doing the MBA. 1.3M quite steep for me at the moment, but will be eager to see where I am by the time I need to enroll. (1-1.5yrs).
If I were to enrol today, I'd have to do USIU.

@webish USIU has the regular MBA and the Global Executive MBA(GeMBA). Now for the GeMBA, they do not usually advertise but each class is 'oversubscribed'. The prices differ with the regular MBA, as well as the location. The GeMBA also includes a 1 international study week. I heard of someone who did THE MBA and with 4 units to go opted out coz s/he felt that he wasn't getting what s/he wanted, then signed up for the GeMBA. Those who've gone through it (1 year program) say it's worth it and more.

hmmmmm. But how would you compare the strictness of admission, for both USIU's GeMBA and Strathmore's Exec MBA? they always mentions "experience as a CEO for x-years", etc etc. Do they follow these things?

For Strathmore MBA you don't need CEO Experience. Just some experience in any Senior position.

Did my undergraduate in Strathmore. Very professional, exemplary learning environment, very strict in terms of academics. And no you can not pass just because you can pass. You have to seriously work for your grades. I see people in public universities report for classes weeks after the official opening dates. in Strathmore, day one was a teaching day and all lecturers would attend. This is a great university with impeccable lecturers, great facilities and so on.

For the GeMBA, they only need management experience fof i think 3 years. Class size is limited so it's quite competitive. The day option tends to have more CEO types. I would think a similar scenario for the Strathmore one.
