If you want to get a title deed, your land has to be valued by a government valuer. What is the percentage of the money you pay to a government? does anyone know? What is the value of land around Katelembo area in Machakos county?

I believe you talking about stamp duty which is 4% for commercial land and 2% for agricultural land.The value of land is predetermined by the lands office for the areas under their jurisdiction per acre.You just have to tell them the size of land and they compute using the above percentages.Hope this answers you.
For the value of land therefore machakos lands office wil give you or any surveyor in that county

@wonderwear

at times the chaps at lands don't follow the above.

i know of a case where a plot on bypass was valued at 800k but was charged at the higher 32k stamp duty. The land itself is classified as agricultural!

Just think along the lines of URBAN-RURAL (Simplification)

Looks like By-pass = Urban hence the 4% charge
