@Mukiha, there is a politics sub-Section in Club SK Section.

Here we are looking at the economic aspect of brookeside buying Molo. I.e funding, impacts on competition and similar things. Sorry if i hurt 'your royal family' interests, but the truth will forever be the truth, no matter how much legal protection you may cover it with.

Now Brookeside has Tuzo, Molo na Brookeside.

Meanwhile Kisumu molasses plant workers are on strike citing low wages, unpaid salaries and nepotism.

Molo Milk is so overated......they have such a small capacity for fresh milk with not a single UHT machine....they have to co-pack with Kabianga dairy: Before this sale they must have been sitting at number 5 in terms of production capacity:

1. Brookside, 2. NKCC, 3. Daima, 4. Githunguri and 5. Molo milk.

Molo milk has been a headache for Brookeside you see tuzo and Ilara brand are geared towards the mass market and targets mainly small income households.

Molo is king in that market fresha used to rule but I dont think they can beat Molo.Tuzo even had a promotion going in the market to finish molo by reducing its price by 5/= but molo remained put.

I think Brookeside just wants to finish a a formidable competitor and as @Guru267 says the govt shld check this noncompetitive behavior...but oops who is the government?

Boss if you knew the capacities of both plants you would no talk.....Brookside processes more than 500,000 (consevative) litres of milk everyday.....Molo does less than 200K!!!!....Molo plant in Molo only compares to Brookside Indutrial area plant (formerly TUZO).....you don't get to Ruiru where it is an empire!!!!

Brookeside is a monolith.I agree to that.My point is Molo has a Niche and that Niche was supposed to be occupied by Tuzo & Ilara brands, fresha & Daima also targets the same segment.Brookside and KCC brands target a different customer base.

Now Molo is king in the low income segment interms of its Niche market. Brookeside with its Tuzo brand tried to wrestle Molo out of that market but could not.Now what better way of controlling that market than buying it out.

Live on nation TV - all channels - Uhuru challenged anyone with evidence that his family stole anything from anybody and no one came up. And this was in front of all his political detractors. Karua even had to retract the claim she had made earlier that week that the Kenyattas own half of Kenya!

So, @dunkang; present here the evidence you have of the stolen land in Taveta. And don't just say that the Kenyattas have 30,000 acres there. There is nothing wrong with owning 30,000 acres.

And another thing, you imply that the Kenyattas have sold off the land in Taveta to raise cash for Molo Milk take over: when did the sale occur and to whom did they sell?

DISCLAIMER:
I did not vote for Uhuru because he strikes me as a weak character -- look at the way he is pleading with striking teachers instead of cracking the whip!

@Mukiha, You Just said it. Now, @Dunkarg is hanging me on the cross for no reason. I Just said that the family is smart and know when and where to Invest. We know many billionaire families (read Kirima) that will be Poorer In a few years coz they can not keep peace and Invest wisely. Point is that you can have a million sh today, regardless of source and go the Bibilical Prodigal son way and be poor tomorrow. I think @Dunkarg would get drunk mpaka iishe.

Now you are talking.....I think TUZO no longer competes well just coz Brookside cannibalized it, you know after buying out a smaller competitor the drive to continue building it dies out!!!.......Next they might target Daima but this will be tricky....Daima are able to import some of their product from Uganda and still be cheaper than kenyan produced stuff (Milk gets to Kes 5 bob a litre in Mbarara Uganda)....infact Brookside is keen to set up shop there!!!!!

Githunguri is a difficult one as it's a co-operative society that is owned by the members and collects it's milk from them many at times they even have extra milk for Brookside(for me the best milk...uniform and consistent)
