The advocate representing the Mandela family had to reveal this in the courts today to be able to win their case which they did win!!!

...now because an official decision has to be made and it has not been made, Zuma and the wife assures everybody that everything is still fine!!!!

Family advised by the doctors to turn off the life support machine!!!!

Bro, I have always been curious. I have grown up hearing of how Mandela IS A HERO yada yada yada.......but my little knowledge is that of a guy who spent 27 years in jail and somewhat automatically became a HERO on being released.

When exactly did he become a hero? Kindly direct me to any helpful text or book that may help me appreciate this man more, coz much as I like n respect him, sijawahi elewa kwanini watu wanamuita shujaa........HELP!

@kabz, you are in good company. I am searching for reasons why Mandela has near-saint status. So far I have 2 reasons: he was in confinement for 27 years for fighting apartheid and refused to be compromised by the govt to secure his release. Secondly, on being released, he pursued a line of reconcilation even appointing De Klerk as Deputy President in a coalition govt that was all inclusive.
