Got flagged down by a cop and threatened with prosecution for having bull bars on my car. Is it really illegal?

If they were manufactured with the car, sawa. Otherwise, ILLEGAL!

just my (2+16% VAT) cents

Inapatikana wapi kwa Traffic Act? Tried to do a quick Ctrl + F for bull bar. No luck. Nani amesoma hii kitu yote?

Go to any Text Book Center, at the till and pick a summarized booklet, pocket size for sh100.

Pole lakini.

Now seriously, that cop warned me not to pass by his outpost again with that thing on if I don't want to get prosecuted. Can someone who knows the law confirm to me that I can confidently tell the him to flush himself in a public loo the next time he brings up the matter.

That's sounds like a different offence i.e. covering the number plate. Bull bars is one way you could cover them, fish is another, more common way. The cop claims having bull bars is illegal, pure and simple. His explanation was that, and I quote, "In the event of a head on collision you will fracture your legs and damage the other car very badly." I am afraid he has a point. Anxious
