I don't even think Obama chooses where to go. Its not like Africa where a president is blackmailed by his wife, that unless she is taken to Paris to buy Gucci bags and strings the following day, he will not have sex with her. And the following day, they are on a flight to paris!!! Obama may suggest where he wants to go but that has to go through a lot of processes. In his itinerary he was supposed to visit a game park in Tanzania...But that was struck off the schedule...He is not the one who struck it off...A US president does not have control over everything like in Africa. Just one small mistake can cause him the presidency! The republicans are looking at every step he makes to see where he will trip. I think if people understood some international politics and stopped copying and pasting 'African style' of doing things on other civilized' countries, all this hullabaloo would not be there.

The decision by Kirubi and Bobcollymore not to attend the meeting is baffling.

If I was Uhuru I would encourage them to attend. The reason why they are not attending this meeting although personal,Is catastrophic to the interest of Kenya as a whole.

What picture does it paint when people who are supposed to guide Kenya's economic renaissance show sycophantic loyalty.

I think it is quite amusing to see This two guys show so much loyalty to the executive that is led by two Genocide suspects.

If a 'foreign' businessman wants to invest in Kisumu, the logical thing is for him to go to the city and meet the county govt officials and local businessmen to conclude the deal.

He should not ignore and bad mouth Kisumu and it's county govt (just because Ranguma is having a court case) and instead choose to go and meet the kakamega governor while inviting a few kisumu businessmen to dinner at Kakamega Golf hotel. Infact it looks stupid. Kisumu businessmen have a right to turn down such an invitation. If someone wants to come and invest in your home, he should come and discuss this in your home, not kwa jirani.

@Njung'e, this should be more of the foreign businessman is interested in Nandi and not Kisumu, however, if he visits Nandi and invites you (kisumu govt) to join him for a meeting that can potentially benefit you, you should not fura and say that he must come to Kisumu. What you must do is go to Nandi and convince the investor that there are better opportunities in Kisumu.

When US was preparing to enter Into the WW2 It is alleged Bush and the Rockefeller family were doing booming business with Hitler.

I think we are fooling our-self when we think US will loose when Capitalist bigwigs in Kenya Fails to attend a meeting that in actual sense is geared toward giving Kenya's entrepreneurs an opportunity to Network with the worlds best.

I think it is myopic for a third-world country like ours to show such arrogance when 95% of our ARV,TB & Malaria drugs/Treatment is funded by the west.

If it were not for the west MPesa that we proudly claim to be Kenyan would be non existent.

Right now Kenya needs to build bridges until we achieve self reliant status...but as of now Pride will lead us into what we were in Moi's Era.

Moi used to say even if your mother runs around naked in the house you don't join your neighbours laughing at her. Bob has realized what the nation newspapers realised in the 60's. Nation then a small company identified with the nationalists while the standard/baraza was a mouthpiece for the colonialists. With independence Nation's market share grew and standard's shrunk. Bob knows his company has projected itself so kenyan no wonder despite their sometimes bad services I just can't leave them. Good business sense why bother with obama who will be out of office in 3 years anyway
