6] Poverty, sharp/severe economic decline (KEN - 7.6; SOM - 9.4)

7] Illegitimate state (KEN - 8.3; SOM - 9.5)

8] Progressive deterioration of public services (KEN - 8.1; SOM - 9.8)

9] Violation of human rights and rule of law (KEN - 7.1; SOM - 10)

10] Bad/poor security apparatus (KEN - 8.1; SOM - 9.7)

11] Rise of fictionalized elites (KEN - 9; SOM - 10)

12] Intervention of external factors (KEN - 8.5; SOM - 9.4)

Now; look at the parameters and ask yourself whether the assessment is fair.

I don't think it is. Particularly, the areas highlighted in RED are grossly exaggerated!

Even though I didn't vote for Jubilee, I don't believe they are illegitimate!

I don't believe we have a large intervention by external players

And so on; and so forth...
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

We are not doing well, that is fact. We can do better. And I doubt we shall ever reach a point where we are now comfortable with what we have. Depends on how many marks each of the scored. Suppose they all scored 85/100? That is an A already. So would you refer them as failed simply because they are number 220/222? The standards must be clearly defined.


@ Washiku, Are you sure you want to play "escapism"?
Ok,the student at position 77 has scored 10 times more marks than the student at position 198 and 19 times more than last one at position 222.

At what position can we use this "fail"?

All thinking and postulation entails some exaggeration. But let's not argue on 'either', 'or' basis. Let's instead be guided by what we experience in our state and search our ideals. And then draw a verdict.

China is not more efficient than US, they are just being [Chinese] exploited. In short cheap labor.
That is why the US with a quarter or so of China's population, has superior GDP.


Just to add on these. work done by 1 person in US mine is done by 20 people in China mines. Facts!
