There are those used to 'There is no different btn them,no different btn....'. It bores me.

@ Tusker8 : I wont pretend to be a master of the queens language but I think the reason why 'we' use Over...this and that is coz we want to stress on a point and secondly we have set our unwritten standards.

This was from my teacher in high school-mind you physic's teacher: Ndung'u (referring to one of the classmate) you cannot be mannerless, you either have good or bad manners!

Premises (meaning building, place, location, etc.) is singular. We say,for example,'Don't enter my premises',but never 'Don't enter my premise'

A premise is a basic principle or assumption.... 'I sold Co-Op shares immediately on the premise that stocks fall after an IPO...'

Speaking of newscasters, have you heard this one: 'Finally, here is tomorrow's weather forecast'

Now,truly; is it possible to read tomorrow's weather forecast today?

A forecast of tomorrow's weather,may be...

...but not tomorrow's weather forecast - that one will be read tomorrow, won't it?
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

Then of course there is 'Error is to human'!!!!!

Surely, even though to err is human, that one makes no sense...

Reminds me of the popularly misquoted phrase: 'Do to others what you would wish them do to you' I always ask, what if they have a different taste?

what Jesus actually said was,'Don't do to others what you wouldn't wish done to you'

@Mukiha - those words remind me of another set of words - CUP and CAP.....now it is so annoying when people call a CAP,or rather, pronounce it,as 'CAPE' (kayp and not c-ah-p). 'Thats a nice Reebok CAPE' WTF? Jesus,Mary and Joseph! A CAPE is what is draped on Superman/Batman's shoulders or that part in RSA where ships go around the continent. THAT IS A CAPE. What you wear on yo head is a CAP (c-AH-P) and not CAPE or C-UH-P)
