The reason why .......Why is a relative/interogative adverb of reason...so reason why..is repetitive.

We were brought for gifts............what!

halafu most words that end in T do not change wen they form tenses

so there are no words like costed, bursted etc!

@ MARREX

Actually one can use the word COSTED,as in estimating the cost of something e.g Has the budget been costed? Check Oxford Dictionary.

What is the distinction between 'Honour' and 'Honor'? How do u use either? And when? My personal bane of grammer!

The race is not always to the swift..nor the battle always to the strong..nor food always to the wise..nor riches always to the intelligent..favor is not always to the skilled..or learned..but time and chance happens to all. Ecl9:5..

@jammo
-our is the UK English sp.,-or is USA sp. for words like honour/honor,behaviour/behavior etc.

Kenyans normally pronounce the h in honour - but alas, not in hour - when they should not! Mpaka sitaki kusikia mtu akisema honourable tena!

Honourable Dick Wathika,MP for Makadara, instead of,Mr. Dick Wathika, the Honourable MP for Makadara...

...the honour is on the office, not the personality....that's why the title is dropped after one leaves the House.....

merriam webster defines PUN thus:

the usually humorous use of a word in such a way as to suggest two or more of its meanings or the meaning of another word similar in sound

it is not uncommon to see it used where it has no meaning (no pun intended)

the correct way to use that phrase is as in this example:

my car is a KBF (no pun intended). i am sure SK members can decipher the two meanings here!

This kills me,guys who say 'Just' when you ask them a question or clarification. Sorry but,it's commonly used by our sisters. Imagine trying to strike a confab with someone and the answers or end to all your questions/statements is just. Grrrrrr.

Lately too, there has been another annoying statement...'i like'

(1.) Methinks it's wrong to say Mrs Ida Odinga. Should be Mrs Odinga or Ida Odinga(Mrs). If you doubt try Mrs Ida. (2) Kindly advise(not advice) him ... What advice (not advise) did you give him? P.S. Did you know that if you want to avoid Mrs or Mr you don't mention somebody's middle or sur (not sir) name? Simply say James,Simon,Gerald,Ida,Lucy....

Saying 'My names are Kelvin Mantissa' instead of 'My name is Kelvin Mantissa'.

One plus one does not always equal to two.

Those making noise about this topic should watch 'My Fair Lady'. This is a great classic film for any language and grammar buffs. I must admit I fell asleep halfway through because of the exertion of shouting myself hoarse at the Coca Cola Stadium for the Harambee Stars.

WTH! and he is not the only one... the other day another friend sent me an sms 'Now you know why i do not lend me books.... Enjoying me drink'
