@Sasha; u said,'People don't go to sleep! They go to bed!' and I say,what of those who don't have a bed? Isn't language practical?

But Mutahi Ngunyi and most other journalists annoy me when they say 'Tako Nitahara leaves in Nitashuta,Japan. But she will soon live Nitashuta for f***,Austria.'

Pronunciation: Most Kenyans including those who work for Equity Bank do not pronounce equity correctly. Another victim is Egerton.

When buying shares,ask yourself,would you buy the whole company?

This is going to be very helpful at the end of the day because most of us Kenyans speak kenyan englais. We start sentences with words such as si,kwani,ati et al and conjugate our sentences using the same words.I find that a malady that is unique to us. Interestingly,most of us are ok with it until we converse with a foreigner who can not understand what we are saying.

@ Tusker,
both phrases are incomplete.It is suppose to be item x for sale OR on offer for sale.

For Sale means that the item is availabale to be bought. ON Sale means that the item is on a discount.

For 'schedule' vs. 'skedule' that is British vs. American English. I did encounter that a couple of times in Canada where my friends were like did you just say? You know when I say trousers instead of pants,lorry-truck,boot-trunk etc.

It is either 'I am' or 'I'm'. I don't know the reason for leaving out the I even if it is an SMS.

@slykat: Then I would assume that wherever that sleep will be had will be construed to be a 'bed'! Regardless,you don't go to sleep! There's no place called sleep that you can 'go' to!

In-ow-vative or ee-noo-vay-tive? Anyone?

When something is for sale, it means that your are 'now' inviting offers for the said 'something'!

When it is on sale, it means that you already have offers and the sale is already an 'on-going' process!

I've just seen another post where someone is asking for 'an advice' ????? Also when people cannot distinguish between advise (v) and advice (n). Now that gets me. Sorry to say but 8-4-4's tend to have such issues. I see people with Masters who can barely spell,like someone pointed out,why should someone write 'live' when they mean 'leave'?

@Mainat,

Some years back when rally driver Jonathan Toroitich was such a darling of the Kenyan crowd at KICC and there was this BBC correspondent who tried pronouncing his name.....Finally unable to get it right,he blurted out......'Jonathan Totally Rich...'...!!
