Subtle distinction here:

If you refer to the team by name then you use 'IT'. Thus,'Harambee stars will have a good chance to enter the World Cup finals if it win its next game'

However,when you refer to the team in the name of the country,you use 'they'. Thus: 'Kenya will have a good chance to enter the World Cup finals if they win their next game'
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

also not forgetting that when refering to the ship's cargo or the crew,you use her.....the ship sailed with her cargo and crew on the high seas.....

with the aircrafts i dont know if the same applies...
