This reminds me of my grandpa several years ago. We were very very close, very good close friends. When he was seriously in pain and he was taking too long to go, his children(my uncles and aunts) started saying that I am the one who was "holding him". They came so hard on me on that. One day I called a priest, went to visit him, said prayers then I said a prayer "Guka, u know I love u so much...so very much. But I can clearly see u r in pain. If God wishes to relieve you of the pain, I am now ready to accept the reality that one day, me and you will have to part ways...If it so pleases God, may be u may now rest" I kissed his forehead, I cried, I left. That very night, at around 1am, the man went to rest.
I dont know how that worked, but to date I still wonder whether it was just meant he had to go that night, or I actually "let him go"
Well, if the man Madiba is in pain, maybe they need to know 'who is holding him' and let him rest. Just saying.
