Starting this November, visas for under 6 months stay will attract a £3,000 (KES390,000) bond. This will start with high risk visitors from Nigeria, Ghana, India and other 4 Asian countries.

Kenyan are classified as a low risk visitors, and they will continue to enjoy existing conditions before the British Government comes up with 'lesser tight' measures for them.

My question is, can £3,000 deter a desparate 'Nigerian'?

Won't it be better if they increase it £10,000 so as we Africans can learn to put our house in order?

This is grasping, pure and simple. Some bureaucrat posed to a bunch of middle level government functionaries... 'how can we make some money' and a bright spark came up with idea of borrowing money from visa applicants. Its a brilliant idea. There are people who will have no choice but to cough this amount, and even if traffic is reduced, the collections will be substantial.
A major diplomatic row is about to kick into gear. The UK needs to check its pride. This is not 1850 when they ruled the world.

The best thing that we africans can do is realise that everything we need is now within our borders and stay here. How about next time they raise it to 3m. Kaeni kwenuApplause

The main responsibility of any effective working and credible government is protecting and advancing her citizens interests. Likewise British government is right and I support them fully. You invite strangers in your family, feed, educate and their kids start slaughtering your own children just because of religious affiliation you don't even understand.

Some Zambian newspaper reported that compulsory VIP screening has been introduced for Zambian visa applicants.

If we all had a good vision for our Country and Continent, The Britons and all the other wazungus would be the ones begging to come here halafu pia sisi tungewaambia walipe Ksh. 1 M in order to be screened.

Seriously, we are all jokers completely especially in the tourism sector. Why do we wait for Wazungus to come tour our country when there are 30 Million, Just imagine 30 Million Kenyans who can do that!!!!! If we seriously invested in local tourism and made it absolutely attractive then this industry would only require the services of a few mzungus and Kenya would find a great way of enhancing its tourism industry.

So tuake kwetu na tujijenge!! We can do great things!!!!

And what has Romanians, Hungarians and Bulgarians done this time round. From the comments in that dailymail report, commentors are all in agreement that Eastern European immigrants are far worse than Nigerians and Indians.

For someone to claim such a thing, this Romanians must truly be a problem. Watch out for Whites xenophobic attacks in London next!
