Investors scared by capital gains tax? Money in the bank might be a good idea by the time it is implemented.

If the implementation is immediate no matter when you bought the shares it might be very painful! Assuming you have shares that have appreciated by 300%+ and you try to sell them the day after the implementation and you are told, "Wait a minute, you bought this shares at Kshs. x years ago and now you are selling them at Kshs. 4x. Washa ujiga! reta hiyo pesa tugawane!!! Hii ni system ya majambazi!". And the fellow who sold days earlier keeps all his money!

The only thing I keep wondering is where are these guys running to.???
Kenya is among the very few countries in the world without capital gains tax and the only country in East Africa that does not levy this tax!

I believe the sell off has more to do with global events rather than capital gains tax!

I don't think they are running to anywhere.More like seeking an exit strategy if interest rates were to rise.

;-) 17 just printed. ... days trading range 15.55-17.00 (9.3%). if day trading was possible, this counter could make a good candidate

17 printed in the first trades, some dudes woke up and picked what was available on offer not knowing lower asks will service.
