@AlphDoti,
I KNOW of pple with almost all these names you've mentioned as bad

My friend MATATA lives in Syokimau and is very enterprising and religious.

My childhood friend TAABU is my agemate, currently in Kericho doing business.

MASUMBUKO was a great footballer from TZ national team in late 80's. Around 1986 to be precise.

Are these what u consider BAD names?

As it suits you my brother.

There is also a name called "Hitler". You might need to consider it as well. Also "Osama" and "Amin". They are names. Just see if it suits you.

Jesus is a hebrew name that means the Lord is salvation. The Latin pronounce it as hay-soos. It is derived from the hebrew name Yeshua, which is short of Yehoshua or Joshua. Joshua means the Lord is salvation. It's also like calling your child Hosea, which means salvation. So there's nothing wrong with calling your child Jesus.

I get it.
So if I go to China and they ask me where I come from, I should have done some translation of my country Kenya... say "Jenya" or "Yehnya".

Why do you translate a name?

If I'm Yona, why do I translate it to Jona?

If I'm called Ibrahim, why do I have to translate it when I learn a new language?

name your kids with the foresight that some of the names will cause them pain when growing up. for example - Judas or Lucifer! I can assure you naming them with names with negative connotations will cause them psychological trauma.
I don't buy the hocus pocus that a name will make people like 'the owners' of the name. Kwani who was Judas named after? si there ware another Judas who was also part of the chosen 12? but society will think you named your kid after Judas IsKariuki and he will not have a good childhood.

I know guys called Osama - its a common arabic name. if your kid will live in the middle east - he will not have issues if he lives elsewhere... well! its like the indian name Kumar... the west pronounces it without the 'r' - that will not be a good name in East africa. same to names of two japanese cities. think about it... someone fills a form and and in PLACE OF BIRTH or CURRENT LIVING ADDRESS he/she fills 熊本市 in latin script

SPEED king Jesus Navas completed his Manchester City move — then sounded out a warning to defenders. Expect goals from this guy!
