A story was told of a man in a country where eating porcupine meat was illegal. One day he was seen hunting for porcupine. A passerby asked him 'Why are you hunting for porcupine? Don't you know eating it is illegal?' 'Yes, I do. I know what the law says. It is EATING porcupine that is illegal. Not hunting it' Later he was seen carrying a porcupine. People in surprise asked him 'Why are you carrying a porcupine. Don't you know eating a porcupine is illegal?' And as you can guess, his reply was 'Yes, I do. I know what the law says. It is EATING porcupine that is illegal. Not CARRYING it' Much to his neighbors amazement he was seen skinning a porcupine. His neighbour worried 'Why are you skinning a porcupine? Don't you know eating it is illegal?' Like clockwork, his reply was 'Yes, I do. I know what the law says. It is EATING porcupine that is illegal. Not SKINNING it' The whiff of porcupine pervaded the area when he began roasting it. People now shocked asked him 'Why are you roasting a porcupine. Don't you know eating a porcupine is illegal?' The 'safe' man's answer.. 'Yes, I do. I know what the law says. It is EATING porcupine that is illegal. Not ROASTING it' Within no time he was tasting it! 'What are you doing! Don't you know eating a porcupine is illegal?' 'Yes, I do. I know what the law says. It is EATING porcupine that is illegal. Not TASTING it' Unfortunately he ended up tasting the whole porcupine Where is your porcupine? Is it safely in the bush.. or are you just texting it? Maybe just having lunch or drinks with it. Afterall that isn't illegal, is it? Maybe you are at the point where you've bought it's panty and put it on your head! Or maybe its only the fingers doing the walking... maybe only the head is in... Where are you with your porcupine? Kishwa sii mbaya. Portfolio: Sold You know you've made it when you get a parking space for your yatcht.

Is 'pursuit of Christ' the same as pursuit of God through Christ? I doubt it.
This is because if there's only Christ and I, then the resultant cannot be God, or Godliness.
Again, how can one say that marriage isn't meant to make one happy? When is one happy? Why not when he/she is holy?
Why should one act to please the other? Isn't the pursuit of Christ about truth?

Is it at all conceivable that a marriage not rooted in Christianity could be a happy one? Say one hinged on an alternative religion, or even on no religion at all. Learn first to treat your time as you would your money, then treat your money as you do your time.

All events are amenable to the laws of nature. Therefore happy marriages are subject to these laws of nature. God reigns through and over nature, therefore the laws of nature are rooted in God.

My inclination right now - given your "bolded" sentiment above - is to ask you whether it is possible for the irreligious to be Godly. But that would be to subvert this thread, whose subject matter is marriage. I will ask you that somewhere else. Learn first to treat your time as you would your money, then treat your money as you do your time.

It's a belief, it's a belief about a supernatural being. After believing, then you recognize that being and it's power. So when you believe, then you follow certain system of life, ordained by this being. So it is not for this being to be religious. It does not benefit this being if you become disobedient or obedient. The obedience in this lifestyle will benefit you. It will benefit the society. It will benefit the humanity. If you are disobedient, then it will harm you, not The Supernatural being. Now that supernatural is called different names in different languages. God is English name. So I think the advice in this thread applies to those who believe in God as well as those who don't believe.

Whatever the "first pursuit" may be for the non-believer, it is very unlikely to be Christ. Learn first to treat your time as you would your money, then treat your money as you do your time.
