Hehehe mwekez@ji, so is this share a lady with virtue (investments, strategy, leadership) but no beauty (cash, dividends, bonus)?

So overtime virtue will win the day but it will be a long bland and ugly wait.

* Dividends received from associates of 217m
now not enough to cater for administrative expenses of (379m)
* Net Cash genterated from
investing activites now (1.5b) from 1.4b previous year

#Noted > The new subsidiary, Centum Asset Managers Limited (CAM,) will start off managing a portfolio the existing portfolio of KES 5.7bn (KES 3.7bn Centum assets and 2bn third party funds). >> This CAM is basically the existing asset management function of Centum

why is the management of centum so obsessed with the performance of the share price? Mr. Market has said 24/= so work hard through figures to show us the projects are viable and you can repay the loans and Mr. Market will respond

Would want to see the breakdown of this income. It it courtesy of revaluations?

Obviously. Centum profits reflects market performance of the previous year. But they have reduced this exposure by decreasing quoted equity % in the portfolio. Not sure if it they reduced or percentage was reduced by virtue of Increased funds into the portfolio from the bonds
Rule No.1 is never lose money. Rule No.2 is never forget rule number one

I am pretty happy with James's concern regarding Centum's share price. At the end of the day, CEOs should demonstrate that they can increase shareholder wealth and the share price is one of the key measures for this. I wish more CEOs had the share price as one of the measures of their success!!!

Not impressed. EPS already reflecting gains in Real Estate....as it stands there is little discount to NAV/share...as a rule...only buy an investment firm when its trading at a 20% discount to NAV...so Centum at Sh23.75 is overvalued in my books...NAV/Share growth of 18% means Centum underfomed the NSE20 in 2012 which expanded more than 20%...not good for an asset manager.
