@Mtu biz, a knee jerk reaction is a mindset; now, how much of what you've said isn't a mindset? Either you don't know, or you are lying to yourself. 'For all have sinned and . . .'
And it isn't about theology, it is about our being transforming the world through action. If you are commercialized as a person then the Gospel is commercialized.
@tycho 100% of anything anyone posts here or even thinks is "mindset". The difference is who and what has informed that mindset. Kindly explain what you mean by "Either you don't know, or you are lying to yourself" in bold above Thank you @Mtu biz. If 100% is Mindset, then learning, and knowledge would be impossible, and conversation would be futile. But learning occurs, and conversation isn't futile. Therefore mindset isn't 100%. But you say mindset is 100%. Therefore you are either lying to yourself and or don't know how much of you is mindset. I don't know how much of me is mindset, but I rarely tire of testing and renewing my mind.

Tycho, you are getting it inside out and outside in.
Who says mindset cannot change? For it to change there must be a reference point, the authority - the bible.
The message of the bible is not specific to geography or culture or individuals.
How can you accuse that learning and knowledge would be impossible if the the mind sets on the greatest source of knowledge?
Mindset is not necessarily bad nay, it is extremely good, if it rests solely on the bible.
But how can it rest on the bible if an exposition of the bible is stonewalled?
I mean, aren't bible studies done? How do they do it then? By reading other books that talk about the bible?
Are we then supposed to go buy those books, read them and suppose the holy spirit will give us understanding?
If it is exchange of words that is feared, then one is falling far short of the service exemplified by Paul the apostle when he reasoned with the Jews, Epicureans and Stoicks out of the scriptures daily at such a time as this.
Dionysius and Damaris of today are waiting to hear the gospel.
The story is in Acts 17.

Allow me to clarify one thing... ok i'll let the bible speak for itself..
1st Timothy 6:
3 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, 4 they are conceited and understand nothing. They have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions 5 and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.
6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
BUT for the christian ??
11 But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 13 In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you 14 to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 which God will bring about in his own time—God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.
I like your dissection. What a motivating feeling to know that we are serving one Master, Jesus Christ is His Name. Can someone tell me who has ever received Jesus in these concerts?? Pls answer me... Eagles don't flock, you have to find them one at a time.

This is what I 'think'. The world knows and recognises it's own. Laws made by man whom God created are meant to bring order on earth not heaven. They have no eternal bearing. But God has also made a provision by giving us the right to choose btwn what is right and wrong because choices have eternal consequences. He is not ignorant of some silly laws made by us, but He respects the fact that the devil still roams the earth until his time is up. He respects the Governing Institutions but not the 'funny laws'made by them. So sio eti God approves gay rights but He leaves us to choose because we appoint the people making those laws. God has His own Democrat Goverment you know and he wouldn't force us into it unlike the man made one. By the way,the devil can actually lead one to God. Pls elaborate how this can happen. @essyk: pls elaborate Eagles don't flock, you have to find them one at a time.

Take a deep breath......then answer the questions i raised in the previous post. Will you do that for me? I don't think so. I'm sort of getting a vibe that this is all about 'Pushing and pulling', something akin to 'I-know-the-Bible-and-you-don't'... My God is a God of love not arguments and exchange of words. That said... We both ascribe to the same Bible. God will make us understand it in a way its best for us individually. The devil would love for it to appear that there is fighting in the house of the Lord. Divide and rule. I refuse to be part of such a scheme. However if your quest is from the Lord, may it prosper. Continue (albeit without me). @Mukiri, this doesn't sound right. It sounds arrogant Madam please expound?
