I Intend to start investing with BAAM Balanced Fund for 10 years from may 2009. Am not sure whether its the best decision. Please can someone share his/her genuine experience on this fund and BAAM in general.

Its not the BEST decision. Take your cash to stocks. They give a better return in the long term as compared with Balanced funds.

A balanced fund is a medium risk fund recomended for btn 3 to 5 years. advantages of using a fund manager is that they do all thinking for you and advice. By the way u need to choose a good fund manager and financial advisor. BAAM is a good fund manager and has some of the best financial Advisors... i recomend that u take the Balanced fund from BAAM. Anyone with info about their return last year?
From other reference in the past i feel fundmanagers dont add up much in terms of return that an informed and 'available' individual cannot match. interms of the equity portion they are likely to simply invest in the stable bluechips and wait for dividends with low probability of jumping out to escape a bear's worst.
