Mr Bell of Wananchi (Zuku): “It is easier to have control of network by buying out a firm than investing in the same infrastructure from the scratch.”

Is Access selling out too early?

Will the stance by Orange (complains about everything), Safaricom (no more unlimited bandwidth), etc lead to Google buying out a firm with infrastructure in place?

Google's 'largest' market is Nairobi which is well served [and expanding] by Access Kenya [which is also expanding country-wide] thus giving Google access to 1,500 businesses & high-end users. Google can expand its reach using (cheaper) access via wifi & wimax all over Nairobi. That would compete directly with Safaricom for home/mobile users.

Reading the CCK quarter report I was amazed to see AK does not control the corporate market share as it had led us to believe....safaricom too does not control the market actually it's around number 5.

The market has big players like Wananchi telecoms,KDN and others who are the heavy hitters in this industry....so I think It was wise for AK with the limited Cash it had to sell it b4 it got Vanquished. :)

Actually, why are there no KDN buyers, yet its a heavy weight.

Yes too early, they should also not accept 14/= at this age but atleast 19-23/= as access has just finished the Fibre band and spent alot of money.
