The new tower, similar to other sky-scrapers in Nairobi, will be located between the Gandhi building and the Education block.

I don't think is fair. All the spaces in the city are being taken up by highrise buildings. I thought the main campus as it is a national monument and no changes should be made to it whatsoever. This should not happen.

Like the strength of higher institution is measured by the height of their building, talk of misplaced priority.
UON main campus should be exclusively for administrative issues only that is if we are serious about quality edu.

Misplaced priorities i would say..the mbirrions could be used to upgrade the various facilities which are in a poor state. Kaimenyi should overturn this...

Kaimenyi and Magoha ni kama chanda na pete. The 2 have been best of friends for years. They had always plotted together how to take over UON from when they were both deans of the School of Medicine and School of Dentistry respectively. So if there is one Vice Chancellor with a direct hotline to Jogoo House it must be Magoha.

In class last year, one senior lecturer intimated that the tower is an effort to stamp their authority as the 'real owners' of University Way. It's just a superiority contest with the other campuses mushrooming along University Way.

On a lighter note, I hope they don't name the building Chandaria University of Nairobi Towers. The abbreviation of that may require PG smile
