Kenol = KENya Oil Ltd

They can as well adopt the full name if the deal goes through

2nd Lover even before the first Lover takes away his garments? Something must be sweeter here. Remember 20% tax may be exempted as NOCK is local, the Oil and gas in kenya must have made the govt have all in order to being able to sell the petroleum products at same prices across the country, the jubilee Govt want kenyans to take pride in their own local companies as NOCK may seek to sell shares to the public soon!smile

BP re-enters Kenya with Lubricants & Oils

Perhaps, they want a chain of petrol stations too?

Just wondering why CMA has not acted to shelve the share from trading as they did with PUMA deal, that would mean they have not been notified of the deal officially, reason why?. Meanwhile let the party rock!

Thanks. It will b volatile but the Annual Report is very upbeat [not that I expect them to be depressing] and Segman is under pressure to perform. Come for the AGM on 30th May. I think we will be pleasantly surprised.

following the rumour mill, if nock was really to buy out an oil marketer. Wouldn't they rather buy TOTAL kenya?

First TOTAL doesn't operate in any other country. Why would nock want to buy into a company with petrol stations in other countries?

second. It seems more logical for a foreign based company to pack up and go,( Like mobil, BP, Agip in the past) unlike a kenyan based firm to sell to gava.

Stranger things have happened though, time, as usual, will tell.

Regional expansion like many other Kenyan firms. I am not saying it is a good idea for NOCK as a GoK entity to go regional but the possibility is there since Kenya remains very competitive

Total has stations in Uganda. It might be larger than KK in Uganda. That said, Total Kenya is based solely in Kenya.

second. It seems more logical for a foreign based company to pack up and go,( Like mobil, BP, Agip in the past) unlike a kenyan based firm to sell to gava. True but...

If the rumour were true, it would be great - GOK showing some muscle, what with NOCK also prospecting for oil. Hio ni kazi nzuri sana ala Sonangol, Petrobras, Aramco, PDVSA na wengineo. Some (if not all) of the PSC's even afford the Government a back-in right in case of any successful exploration. If the GOK were to activate that right, I would imagine NOCK would be the beneficiary.

Mosdef. NOCK in Upstream & through a proper refinery, have a expansive local & Pan-African/grobo* Downstream network. That's perfect.
