I have read in the Star(Forgive me for this)today That Nock in a secret 25.5B deal codenamed 'Operation Chui' is in the process of buying a big local retailer with more than 160 service stations and numerous storage facilities.I am suspecting KK if the story has any truth to it.

Nock is gava, and can negotiate the pending cases well,if true you cant rule out surbotage by gvt in pumas deal.

Too soon after PUMA exit. Stealth operation indeed, if true. The amount involved is similar to what the PUMA deal was valued at... is GOK trying to ready its tummies for the oil find? lets wait and see.

Link please.

If true then this would be a show stopper in the Kenyan oils industry...for the first time we will have a national oil company dominating the market in Kenya...much like in countries like Venezuela and Iran.
Any good deal for me wanjiku?

As long as it is a fair price. Minimum should be 15 [I have reduced the 'ask' after the hedge & other losses in 2H as well]

16M shares have traded with an upthrust to 10.40 now reversed down to 9.00. I said a few weeks back 9/- has not yet been properly tested. Tread carefully.

From now ill just put an order sub 9.50 and wait even for a month assuming the seller keeps selling. It goes to 9.00 and back to 9.50 in a flash

Either way and it's well know KK was on the chopping board for 41 bob and PUMA were only offering 29 bob. Surely nobody would be selling KK for 17.35 would there be?

I suspect Star have oil Libya in mind. Highly unlikely KK is being sold this year at least not for 25B. I think KK will want to refocus the business and correct the errors pointed out by PUMA before selling. NOCK have no clue what they do. Kenol is highly rated in the region for having the best understanding of the subsaharan downstream market. Certainly NOCK other than being a national oil company have everything to gain and would have to pay a premium to KK.
